Way better than her sticky pic shots. Now THOSE are buckteeth.
Hey, guys, doesn’t that Mio fanclub card look familiar to you, or is it just me who thinks that? Moving right along then, it’s very appropriate that this title was called “Tea Party!” because this is how each day in the light music club room feels. The funny thing is, this wasn’t even about the tea and pastries, but more about this senpai whom we never even knew about, and played the role of a stalker of sorts (besides being the student council president and the club president of the fanclub). Quite a random story as well, considering most of us forgot all about the Mio fanclub.
One of the funniest things about this episode was the Mio merchandise the club brought. In many ways, I feel this is KyoAni’s nod to the ridiculous consumer goods that otaku will buy, regardless of what the product is. Mio tissue box? Bought. Mio bottle cap opener? Bought. Mio zippo lighters? Definitely bought. Yui and Ritsu really know who the suckers out there are, huh?
Now the performance was a nice surprise, in that it was a new song AND there was a good amount of instrument animation going on. Definitely a keeper here. Pure Pure Heart sounded great, the lyrics were charming, and KyoAni had the decency to animate the performance a bit, despite it not being as detailed as I would’ve liked it to. Hopefully we’ll hear some more awesome tunes like this one soon.
