Finally, a proper Sawako-centric episode. I say that, but the girls did have their few moments of shining pillars of moe, especially Yui. The notes-passing session was ridiculously long, but amusing. Is it really not that noticeable to Sawa-chan-sensei? It was funny how Mugi got her and the others to stand outside the classroom (and think about what they’ve done?) and it was even more funny that Yui was put outside with them. She only passed one (irrelevant) note, but I suppose she also had to sit out because she’s just being idiotic.
Before this episode, Sawako really did seem like she wanted to forget about her high school life and move on being a teacher, but it’s clear she couldn’t really escape it now that she’s the adviser for the girls’ club. A reunion with her fellow bandmates didn’t seem to change her mind either until she sees Yui screw up. Now, speaking of which, the girls looked like they came from a whorehouse. Too much make-up and I don’t think they were really trying with the hair. Sawako took the stage and kicked ass once she took those glasses off. She looked like a real punk star there. I’m not a fan of death metal at all, but it was a lively performance… though seeing as how it was a wedding, the choice of music seemed way off to me. The fiancĂ© was right to have a confused expression on his face. I dunno about you, but I hardly think of death metal bands when I hear “light music club.” But hey, I guess it was one of those times where the pop music sits on the sidelines and let hell have its fury. Needless to say, this is probably the last time we’re gonna hear this, but it was definitely a nice change for the time being. One of my favorites parts is during the performance we get to see Sawako’s abridged life story as placement for actually animating anything. Thanks a lot, KyoAni. Nah, I kid, but it’s a good conclusion to Sawako’s story, and so then we can finally move on back to the girls.
