kzi_youkoBoy, do they enjoy time jumping. I guess that can’t be helped if they wanna get through everything in 13 episodes. First it was the first day of school, then it’s near summertime, then it’s the School Festival, then it’s Christmas. I’m not sure about this, but that almost seems like they are now third years. They’ve changed back to winter uniforms, they went through the school festival, and now it’s Christmas. So…
Getting to the point, this episode was quite entertaining, and it made me a big fan of Ui. It also made me realize there would be a surge of Yui x Ui art at this point. You reading this, Gene? It was really cute in the beginning seeing the two as kids. Yui’s using the fluff from their cushions to make Ui a White Christmas was adorable. Another cute scene I liked was when Yui shared her scarf with Ui. I didn’t think a scarf could be that long, but she sure showed me. Either that or Yui’s neck is really small. Speaking of which, anyone else notice Mugi is the only one with, like, a different scarf? Everyone’s generic looking, but Mugi’s got a plaid design on hers. Mugi also seems to be the only one with huge luck. Like, sure, someone that owns tons of villas doesn’t need a trip to Hawaii. She’s not that modest, eh? The whole thing with the presents was predictable, but cute. Reminds me of Gift of the Magi, the ironic story of the couple who sacrificed their possessions in order to give each other a gift. Of course, the girls didn’t actually lose anything in this case. I think my favorite part in this episode is when Ui turns around every second making sure Yui doesn’t eat the snacks she just prepared. Other than the Hirasawas, I enjoyed a lot of the moments involving Ritsu, basically because she was her natural self, and I just love her humor. Sidestepping from her humor, though, I love it that she’s the only logical person of the group at certain occasions. Her telling everyone to redo their prayers (twice for Yui) was great. Actually, I didn’t think they were gonna use the last few minutes for the New Year’s segment, but I’m glad they did anyway (kimono Mio!).
kzi_geneWell this was cute little episode. I was hoping there would be at least a set up to what’s going to happen next (like another concert), but I managed to enjoy what I got. Have to say Yui looked adorable in that santa outfit. I just wanted to take her home with me. And in my opinion more adorable than when Mio did it. Yeah, that’s right, Mio fags. I said it. Moving on, I thought the relationship the Hirasawa sisters have is.. well I don’t like overusing a word, but I can’t think of another: adorable. That word basically describes this entire show actually. It’s nice that their gifts ended up in each other’s hands, though that was a risky move no matter how one looks at it. I would have just bought two separate gifts; one for the sister and one for the party. How it luckily managed to end up in the right hands was bit too convenient but I’ll let it slide.
Other than all the HHNNNGGGGG going on, nothing really happened here. Hopefully the series will move away from these kinds of episodes now that we’re heading towards the finale. And it better be awesome.
