For once, the girls want to practice and they can’t do it because their clubroom is in maintenance. Feng shui sure got to them. I think they took their clubroom for granted after this, just because they usually spend their time drinking tea and having cake.
To me, each segment seemed like it was its own story, but they all come together in the end. From trying to find a clubroom to practice for the school festival to writing lyrics for a new song. In that sense, it was almost like plot drifting too. I enjoyed the little time HTT spent trying to find a place to practice. The classroom was definitely my favorite. Once they started playing, the school started shaking. Man that was loud, but hey, anything to hear “Curry Nochi Rice”! I’m glad they chose to play that one. Playing in the gymnasium would not be my first or later choice. I’d be more worried that a ball could fly over and damage the equipment. I still don’t see why they couldn’t go to someone’s house to do it, like say, Mugi’s since I’m sure no one would mind. Ritsu must have it easy because all she needs to carry are her drumsticks. This is one of the few times I see Mugi carring her keyboard around. So that explains why she’s able to lift heavy things. One little thing I liked: Yui’s speaking like a grandmother and telling Azusa to sit in front of her in their classroom. A little subtle there, but it was funny nonetheless.
Inside the recording studio, it was just laughably predictable that the girls would end up not using it for practicing. I had a feeling having a mirror in front of them would be bad too because I knew they’d start grooming themselves. Surprisingly, Mugi rather prepare the tea. I guess here is where they started to have more focus on the new song and lyrics thing. Yui’s was very punny, Mugi’s sounded like a mystery novel, and Azusa’s was quite good. They couldn’t considering changing Ton-chan to something else? I love the reaction on everyone else’s faces when they realize it was about Ton-chan. Maybe they were just jealous. Mio should get a grip about not getting her lyrics chosen too. Just saying.
I thought this would’ve been over once they got their clubroom back again, but then Ui suddenly got sick for no apparent reason, which was a ploy into getting Yui to write awesome lyrics out of the blue. It’s rather charming, actually. “U & I” could very well be a double meaning. It could be referring to Ui, and the title uses both letters “u” and “i” OR it could be a pun with the “U” meaning the character “yu” plus the character “i” which makes “Yui.” I don’t think Yui realizes just how clever and smart she’s become, let alone responsible. That being said, it looks like this will be a song with Yui on the vocals. I can’t wait to hear it… whenever that is.
