This episode was pretty fair for the most part, but it’s something we’ve ran across ever since Azusa’s inclusion into the club, so I felt it was needless to get the “we need to practice” bit another go. You know these girls aren’t gonna fiddle. Though, it was close to being done with only Mio in the clubroom for one scene. Right from the beginning I thought it would feel pretty mellow, but it just turned into one of those “22 Short Films of Springfield” sort of thing. I enjoyed Mugis Mugi-ness after her spotlight episode so it was a pleasant treat to get more of that, plus a little cute boo action here and there. When Azusa was teaching her about the guitar, I could relate to Mugi here having some difficulty. I enjoy the guitar, but I prefer the keyboard myself.
I thought there would be a segment where it would be just Ritsu and Azusa in the clubroom as well, but no, it was her needing help with home ec (read: make Mio do it for her). I think the reactions the girls had when they met Ritsu’s brother read, “Wow, there’s actually a boy in this show?” Surprisingly enough, Ritsu is actually good at home ec because she prepared food for everyone. She’s more organized than she appears to be, but that’s because she’s always being herself.
On to more relevant matters, it looks like Mugi’s song is coming to use. The one that she thought up before? Could be. I also like the idea Azusa had of having a ballad song, something HTT needs more of. Next week… crossing my fingers for an actual new song.
